High-barley Rye Whiskey Single Barrel Selection: MI-391

This Single Barrel Selection is one of the last high-barley rye barrels from the 2016 lot. It’s one of our most rare and coveted mash bills; only a handful of barrels have been bottled. The whiskey was distilled at MGP Indiana in December 2016 where it matured for over 5 years. The whiskey spent the rest of its maturation cycle at Copper & Cask HQ, where it was eventually bottled at over 8 years.

Tasting Notes:
On the nose, this whiskey is full of confectionary notes of royal icing and marzipan.  Once sipped, sweeter flavors of toffee and maraschino cherries appear before revealing notes of fruitcake and molasses cookies. The finish is long and comes in waves with notes of cherry cola, toasted almonds and cardamom.
