This rye is a blend of two rye lots, one aged for 8 years and the other for 10 years. Both have a mash bill of 95% rye, 5% malted barley. The whiskey was finished in rum barrels for over a year.

For this release, we wanted to find rum barrels that would complement the bold, spicy character of our rye with a sweeter, softer tone. The result is a bold yet approachable whiskey that is full of flavor with plenty of cinnamon spice and just the perfect amount of rum influence.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, this whiskey is robust with aromas of fruitcake and cinnamon candies. Once sipped, spicy flavors of white pepper and chai come to the fore, giving way to sweeter notes of candied orange peel and blackstrap molasses. The finish is long and bold with hints of cola, raw honey and espresso.
