Small Batch 006 is the follow-up to our first Small Batch Series release, 001. This whiskey came from the same lot of 2015 MGP barrels that were aged in Florida. When we batched SB001, we had about 21 barrels available. We used more than half of those for SB001, which was bottled as an 8yr Bourbon. We held only 8 barrels back to age further until they reached 9 years in May 2024. Those barrels were married and batched for SB006. To say the additional aging made this whiskey even more delicious is an understatement.  

Given the small number of barrels, and the additional evaporation from extended aging, only 948 bottles were produced for this new batch – making it the smallest and most limited small batch release to date.

Tasting Notes:
The nose of this whiskey is rich with aromas of chocolate-covered cherries and maple syrup. Once sipped, the flavors of burnt sugar and candied orange peel jump forward before revealing notes of berry compote and honeycomb. The finish is long and complex with hints of espresso, milk chocolate and butterscotch.
